Autumn tree planting

We plant trees twice a year because this is the rhythm dictated by nature. In accordance with the law of nature, preschoolers from the Private Nursery and Kindergarten “Świat Dziecka” in Siewierz participated in the tree planting campaign twice in 2023. It was a spring and autumn campaign. The workshops were organized as part of the project “Little with age, but big with eco-heart” project number: 2022-3-PL01-ESC30-SOL-000097905. The autumn tree planting campaign took place on November 15, 2023. The aim of the workshops was to teach children how to care for plants and awaken their interest in nature. The classes consisted of two parts: theoretical and practical.

After a presentation about ecology and plants, children from the groups: Pixies, Smurfs and Dots reached for shovels, seedlings, watering cans and started planting trees.

Preschoolers and their caregivers transplanted plants from pots into the ground. The trees were planted around the playground located in the kindergarten. They will provide protection against excessive sun rays and will be an educational base for recognizing the family of trees. This year, preschoolers planted spruces, pines and maples. The little gardeners were very happy with the task entrusted to them. The workshops were summarized in the words of the kindergarten teacher:

“Planting trees plays a big role for the environment in which we live. Trees improve air quality, shape the climate, retain rainwater and provide a valuable raw material.”

Recycled copper tree

Autumn is coming to an end. The cold of the coming winter is becoming more and more felt, so children from the Private Nursery and Kindergarten “Child’s World” in Siewierz participated in creative handicraft workshops to stop the golden Polish autumn. The workshop took place on November 15, 2023. The aim of the workshop was to create a recycled copper tree. To make the above-mentioned item, materials were used that are usually not used for play but end up in the trash, i.e. copper wire from a damaged electric motor, buttons “from a sweater from grandma”, an eco-friendly drink cup, old newspapers, i.e. items that we gave second life to. life.

While spending time together, unique creative works were created.

At the end, preschoolers from the groups: Pixies, Smurfs and Dots painted a large autumn tree with paints, the leaves of which were the prints of children’s hands in different colors.

This type of workshop is a great opportunity to promote ecology among children.

What does autumn bring us in the basket? – autumn handicraft workshops for children at the Public Kindergarten. Winnie the Pooh in Sarnów

Autumn is a beautiful time, full of colorful leaves falling to the ground and rustling underfoot. A time for family walks in the park and collecting chestnuts, acorns and mountain ash.

It is also a perfect time to organize ecological workshops for children entitled: “What does autumn bring us in the basket?”

Therefore, on Friday, October 20, 2023, two groups of “Wise Owls” children attending the Public Kindergarten. Winnie the Pooh in Sarnów took part in ecological handicraft workshops organized as part of the project „Little with age, but big with eco-heart!” project no.: 2022-3-PL01-ESC30-SOL-000097905.

At the beginning of classes, preschoolers and their kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Magdalena, went to the kindergarten garden and collected autumn gifts. They collected various types of leaves, which they later used for artistic works. During the workshops, the youngest children performed “Autumn Hedgehog” on their own. The following materials were used for work: colorful maple leaves, colored paper and rowan trees (nose). Eyes and a smile painted with a black marker. The works were beautiful, simple and creative. The children’s finished works wonderfully decorated the interior of the kindergarten corridor.

We were surprised by their ingenuity, concentration of attention and accuracy in carrying out their work. Sometimes it may seem that children will not be able to create spatial work without the help of an adult. Nothing could be further from the truth. Take a look for yourself…

Autumn cleaning of the world

The action went very smoothly. It was organized as part of the project „Little with age, but big with eco-heart!” project no.: 2022-3-PL01-ESC30-SOL-000097905.

Preschoolers from Sarnów in the Siewierz Forest District

Since September this year, 6-year-old preschoolers from the Tigers group attending the Public Kindergarten. Winnie the Pooh in Sarnów entered kindergarten and now they attend the “Wise Owls” group. This is the oldest group of preschoolers taking part in the project: “Little with age, but big with eco-heart”. Under the care of their preschool teacher, Mrs. Magda, children learn about the world, discover their interests and develop social skills, and learn about nature. They are always willing and ready for various types of trips.
On October 2, 2023 the “Wise Owls” group participated in a trip to the Education Center of the Siewierz Forest District. Once there, all the children greeted the foresters. At the beginning, employees of the Siewierz Forest District conducted a talk with preschoolers about ecology, the environment and caring for nature, and gave a gift in the form of a seedling to the entire kindergarten. Later, they showed the children the animal and bird exhibits at the Center. The children listened and recognized the sounds of animals, recognized them by their tracks, recognized tree species, and learned about the working tools of lumberjacks in the past and today. The children liked the animals the most: a wild boar, a squirrel, a hedgehog, a badger, and birds.
A walk along the educational path was also fun because the children collected chestnuts and acorns, saw a pasture, a nesting box, a hunting lodge, and wonderful tree specimens.
The summary was a visit to the pond of pond turtles lying in the sun.

The end of the trip is roasting sausages, singing together by the bonfire and having fun.
The donated seedling will definitely be found in the kindergarten garden.

The trip was organized as part of the project “Little with age, but big with eco-heart”: project number: 2022-3-PL01-ESC30-SOL-000097905.

Preschoolers clean up the world…

September is the month in which we join the “Clean Up the World” campaign. This year, as part of the implemented project „Little with age, but big with eco-heart!”, project no.: 2022-3-PL01-ESC30-SOL-000097905, children from the Private Nursery and Kindergarten “Child’s World” in Siewierz participated in cleaning up the world. The aim of the campaign was to promote the principles of caring for the environment from an early age.
The day in kindergarten, i.e. September 15, 2023, started with a talk on the topic: “Why should we care about the environment we live in?” Later, children from the groups: Leprechauns, Smurfs and Dots, equipped with gloves and bags, set out with their preschool teachers to tidy up the nearby area. Preschoolers cleaned the kindergarten garden and the area near the kindergarten with great commitment. By tidying up the designated area, they felt that they were doing something important for our planet. During the cleaning, project participants learned that they should take care of nature, protect it, and enjoy its charms.

We hope that the experience gained in this way will result in good ecological habits in the future.

Hug a tree – the advantages of tree therapy in kindergarten

On September 11, 2023, children from the Tigers group attending the Public Kindergarten. Winnie the Pooh in Sarnów took part in the National Campaign “Hug a Tree”. The aim of the campaign was to teach children respect for nature, sensitivity and the ability to draw positive energy from contact with nature. The culmination of all activities was an art work made by preschoolers titled: “I love the tree.” A walk together allowed all curious children to touch, smell and hug the trees growing in the kindergarten square.

Preschoolers also became familiar with the concept of tree therapy, i.e. green energy from trees that has a calming effect on our behavior.

The workshops were organized as part of the project „Little with age, but big with eco-heart!” project number: 2022-3-PL01-ESC30-SOL-000097905.

“Watermelon Day” in the group of Pixies, Smurfs and Little Dots

Holidays are a time of joy, sunny days and juicy fruit. On a hot August day in the Private Nursery and Kindergarten “Children’s World” in Siewierz, preschoolers from the group of Pixies, Smurfs and Dots celebrated an unusual holiday – “Watermelon Day”. On this day, children made fruit sailboats on their own. For work, they used materials that had been given a second life: watermelon rind, plastic bottles, long toothpicks, red sheets of paper from the technical block. The youngest coped with this task very well. To provide plenty of attractions on this day, the children and their teacher went to the swimming pool located in the kindergarten to launch watermelon sailboats.

These were successful activities that gave the children a lot of joy and satisfaction. The opportunity to make a sailboat was an excellent lesson in handicraft and an inspiration for artistic activities.

The workshops were conducted as part of the project „Little with age, but big with eco-heart!” project number: 2022-3-PL01-ESC30-SOL-000097905.
