Autumn cleaning of the world

Autumn is the most colorful season of the year, delighting with its palette of colors and the abundance of nature’s gifts. It is also a perfect time for autumn cleaning, including: in an orchard, garden, forest.

On October 4, on a beautiful, sunny morning, children from the “Wise Owls” group attending the Public Kindergarten named after Winnie the Pooh in Sarnów and its caregivers took part in an ecological campaign to clean up the world. They were provided with garbage bags and rubber gloves. Everyone collected waste, papers and bottles with great commitment.

For preschoolers, it was cleaning the kindergarten garden and nearby green areas.
The action went very smoothly. It was organized as part of the project „Little with age, but big with eco-heart!” project no.: 2022-3-PL01-ESC30-SOL-000097905.

Preschoolers clean up the world…

September is the month in which we join the “Clean Up the World” campaign. This year, as part of the implemented project „Little with age, but big with eco-heart!”, project no.: 2022-3-PL01-ESC30-SOL-000097905, children from the Private Nursery and Kindergarten “Child’s World” in Siewierz participated in cleaning up the world. The aim of the campaign was to promote the principles of caring for the environment from an early age.
The day in kindergarten, i.e. September 15, 2023, started with a talk on the topic: “Why should we care about the environment we live in?” Later, children from the groups: Leprechauns, Smurfs and Dots, equipped with gloves and bags, set out with their preschool teachers to tidy up the nearby area. Preschoolers cleaned the kindergarten garden and the area near the kindergarten with great commitment. By tidying up the designated area, they felt that they were doing something important for our planet. During the cleaning, project participants learned that they should take care of nature, protect it, and enjoy its charms.

We hope that the experience gained in this way will result in good ecological habits in the future.

Hug a tree – the advantages of tree therapy in kindergarten

On September 11, 2023, children from the Tigers group attending the Public Kindergarten. Winnie the Pooh in Sarnów took part in the National Campaign “Hug a Tree”. The aim of the campaign was to teach children respect for nature, sensitivity and the ability to draw positive energy from contact with nature. Children participating in the campaign learned through various types of activities – talks, lectures, an educational film entitled “Tree” about how to take care of nature. The culmination of all activities was an art work made by preschoolers titled: “I love the tree.” A walk together allowed all curious children to touch, smell and hug the trees growing in the kindergarten square.

Preschoolers also became familiar with the concept of tree therapy, i.e. green energy from trees that has a calming effect on our behavior.

The workshops were organized as part of the project „Little with age, but big with eco-heart!” project number: 2022-3-PL01-ESC30-SOL-000097905.

Family Ecological Picnic at the end of the holidays

On Friday, August 25, 2023, a Family Ecological Picnic was organized at the end of the holidays at the Private Nursery and Kindergarten “Child’s World” in Siewierz.

The event was outdoor. It started at 2 p.m. in the kindergarten square. The picnic was attended by large numbers of children from kindergarten groups: Dots, Pixies, Smurfs, as well as parents, grandparents and guardians. It was an opportunity to spend time together.

There were many attractions for preschoolers, including: competitions with prizes in which they had to demonstrate their knowledge of waste segregation, recycling and water care.

There were also some unusual surprises, such as a large inflatable slide and a castle that the youngest could use as much as they wanted. Throughout the entire event, children were provided with: cotton candy, popcorn, and ice cream.

After dusk, a bonfire was lit and cakes were baked in a cauldron.

Everyone took advantage of the picnic offer at their discretion. It was noisy, joyful and family-friendly. The time spent together brought a lot of joy and smiles to the children’s faces.

I am ECO – Code of the Young Ecologist

Ceremonial celebration of “Earth Day” in the Non-Public Nursery and Kindergarten “Świat Dziecka” in Siewierz

On April 24-26, 2023, a series of Earth Day classes, often called the International Mother Earth Day, was organized in the Non-Public Nursery and Kindergarten “Świat Dziecka” in Siewierz. In those days, groups of preschoolers: Smurfs, Leprechauns, Kropeczki participated in ecological workshops carried out as part of the project “Little with age, but big with eco-heart!” project no.: 2022-3-PL01-ESC30-SOL-000097905.

The aim of the workshop was to promote pro-ecological attitudes in society and to build common responsibility for our planet. Preschoolers participated in a chat about soil pollution, waste segregation, recycling. They tried to answer the question: what can we do to keep the earth clean? In the next part of the classes, the youngest participants of the project made a globe in groups using recycled materials.

The culmination of the pro-environmental knowledge gained was planting trees in the kindergarten garden. Preschoolers, under the care of preschool teachers, planted about 40 pine seedlings. The seedlings come from the Siewierz Forest Inspectorate – State Forests.

The children were very involved in activities for our planet.
