Cooking from leftovers, i.e. zero waste cuisine

Thursday, January 18, 2024 – a day full of attractions and experiences for the group: Pixies, Smurfs and Dots from the Private Nursery and Kindergarten “Children’s World” in Siewierz. On this day, children participated in culinary workshops organized as part of the project „Little with age, but big with eco-heart!” project no.: 2022-3-PL01-ESC30-SOL-000097905.
During the workshops, preschoolers and their caregivers prepared pizza from leftovers, i.e. in the “zero waste” spirit.

At the beginning of the classes, the youngest participants of the project solved exercises and puzzles that allowed them to answer the questions: What ingredients do we use to make pizza dough? What types of pizza are there? What is the difference between traditional pizza and Polish pizza? How to choose ingredients for the type of pizza?

Then came the practical part. Preschoolers prepared yeast dough for pizza, spread it with sauce, composed toppings according to their own taste, and finally sprinkled them with cheese. All the baked goods turned out perfect. The children ate the pizza they prepared with gusto. The culinary workshops were conducted in the spirit of “zero waste”.
